Hi, I hope I don't get thrown out of here but I've always had a thing for breeding and raising a foghorn leghorn size chicken. I have a black Langshan rooster- is that as tall as I can purchase?
thanks- Lisa

i have had BJG and currently have Black Langshan. The Langshan exhibition variety is taller. Malay's are tall, but a quality Black Langshan cock is the tallest I'v seen.

My Malay is definately the tallest on my yard... this is him 2 months ago at just over 30 inches and he is only 10 months old and Malays will not fully mature until 2 years old

The APA Malay standards have smaller weights than most of the international standards, so show lines of Malay in the US probably aren't as tall as it's possible for them to get. My lines come from German import stock so they are heavier and larger.

Tallest chicken breeds, Saipan junglefowl, Malay, and Shamo (all are oriental games.. Except the junglefowl which are too sort of...) all of them growing up to be 3 feet tall.. some over.. some below. by a few inches..

I hear of one in New Mexico called "Nugget".

"New Jersey Giants" are big...

This "New Mexico Giant" is bigger....

Somebody get writerofwords in here, with a pic of Nugget- might take a while, since he is NOT to be awakened for trivialities!

He's about 3 feet tall if I remember-

But is he a recognized breed?
