What is wrong with my quails foot?

Hi!! New to quails. I’ve noticed these last few days my quail is slowing down and saw this on her foot. Not sure what to do please advise - no farm vets near by.

Hi!! New to quails. I’ve noticed these last few days my quail is slowing down and saw this on her foot. Not sure what to do please advise - no farm vets near by.

That is bumble foot. To get rid of it you can give them an Epsom salt bath to soften the tissues in their feet. Then cut out the black core with a brand new razor blade or scalpel (if you feel very very comfortable and like you think you can do it if not don’t do it) then if there is any pus in there you need to remove the pus it might be stringy pus or a hard piece of pus. After that if you did it clean up their feet dry them and wrap them up with some vet wrap. If you didn’t cut them open clean it as best as you can and then wrap them up with the vet wrap.
