I am very suspicious it could be a dangerous snake. I noticed I didn't have as many eggs the next day.

Gosh, so sorry. :hugs I'm not familiar with snakes as we only have the safe kind up here, but I can see where you'd suspect that. I don't know of any of the usual predators that would leave marks like that. Plus, most would have hauled her away.

She was probably pulling feathers there because she was broody or going to be going broody.
 
So Sorry! But, if it were a poisonous snake, would the wounds not have red striations radiating from them to indicate the spread of poison and infection...?
There's a good thought. I also wondered if it could have been a rat or weasel, as they can't haul off a grown chicken, at least not very far if at all.
