What kind of night time coops do you use for free ranging guineas?

We built a 8x16 cattle panel hoop house for our guineas, based on another thread:

It’s a fairly budget friendly option and the guineas seem to like it. We currently have 16 guineas confined to the coop and 20x40 ft run. They are currently presses for space, but the plan is to free range again once they are all laying in the coop, and then I think it will be fine.

Nice setup! Do you keep your guineas primarily for eggs? I really want to use them for tick control. Any eggs I find would be an added bonus!

We keep them for tick control too, so I really wish I didn’t have to lock them up! This is our second year with them, and their wild nests have been problems for us both years. Last year, they put their nests near the coop, but various predators, especially black rat snakes, raccoons, and bobcats, found them and then stuck around, so we were losing birds and nests due to increased predators. This spring, the guineas decided to nest across the street, and we lost two to being hit by cars. That’s when they got confined to coop and run until they accept the nests we’ve provided, then I’ll be happy to let them back out! Right now, only 4 of our 12 hens are laying, so I’m hoping that almost all will be laying in our new nest boxes. I’ve been encouraged the last few days as they seem to be using a nest!
