I started all of my chicks on 27% turkey starter, but this can cause problems like slipped tendon, so you should ask someone more experienced about feeding peafowl. But my chicks also had access to sunshine, grass, greens, bugs, eggs, table scraps, etc, so that might be why none of my chicks had any leg problems. Interestingly, the feed store fed their chicks the exact same food, and at least 25% of their peafowl developed slipped tendon. What do you feed your pea babies and pea adults?
My adults get a game bird seed called TMC. http://www.seedfactory.com/Game-Bird-Blends/game-bird-blends-TMC-mix.html, alfalfa hay, access to oyster shell and small amounts of turkey starter mixed with water. CT free ranges, so he also gets grass and bugs.
