In addition to my New Orleans Saints chicks Drew (Brees) and Pierre (Thomas), my other birds names are:

DaddyRoo (our only rooster)

Blueberry (our only EE hen)

Buffy, Blondie, and Momma (our Buff Orpingtons; Momma is the Buff who keeps going broody on us)

Mindy and Mandy (our older barred rocks)

and

Patty and Cathy (they are identical cousins; pullet hatchlings that came out of Momma's first broody episode)

RIP: Einstein (our RIR who was smart enough to con us out of extra scratch -- we think a hawk or an owl got her)

BabyRoo (the little cockerel from Momma's first hatching; we had to cull it during the winter storm weather emergency when it was kicking the emergency food rations out of the cage, and was attacking the other two pullets mercilessly because we were forced to lock the three of them up in the dog cage 24/7 during the emergency. We hoped to keep it till spring and then find a new home for it -- now, it's been relocated to freezer camp) and

Donna Duck (a semi-crippled duck that a farmer friend gave us -- we think it was also picked up by a hawk or an owl)

Wow you named some of your chickens after my kids....Hellian 1, 2, 3 and 4!!!!

yuckyuck.gif

Ours have been mostly named after old ladies names. We have Mildred, Betty, Gretchen (but with her new hair do I want to rename her "the fonz"), Lovely, Silvia, Queen Victoria, Minnie and Tostito. When the pullets were young I threw the rest of a bag of Hint of Lime Tostitos in the compost and she would not leave that pile alone for over a week even after not gettin to any of the chips. Poor thing kept going at it forever trying to find another one of those chips. Our 7 week old chicks haven't been named and it doesn't seem that they will ever get names.

Betty, Hally Blueberry, Olivia (a.k.a. "the Joker"), Vera, Phyllis, Simone, and Special Edna.

Rest in peace: Doris, Gwenivere, Miriam Maya and Peeps
