What should I use as grit for my chicks

I always start grit by the 2nd day or so, by sprinkling it on their food like you are salting (very lightly). They may be only eating chick starter, but are they eating the bedding etc.?

Question they are allowed access to out side in the day because they are in a chicken tractor so do I still need to give them grit

You don't *have* to, but I would. It could prevent many problems in the future
