What white egg layers are best, but also relatively cheap?

I love the White Leghorn for good white egg's, my self. You can buy 10 at a time from Tractor Supply. Just go to Theyre website and type in 'Baby chicks" and it will show what breeds they have for sell. I believe its free shipping, as well. I'm about to order 10 Leghorns myself, for $34.00. :)

Yes. We are going for the dorking. Thanks for all your suggestions. When I get my own land and farm, I plan to ownbe many of those breeds. But this is my mom's homestead and she said dorkings when iI showed her the options XD
They are so sweet! If you have other chickens you have to make sure that they don’t get beat up on.

Have you thought of Anconas and Sicilian Buttercups, both really good layers. And not too flightly, mine are not anyway. The Anconas are so pretty.
Those are pretty breeds! I just pretty much pick chickens that are known to be really mellow and docile. My silver gray dorking is super easy to handle and just goes along with anything! If the other chickens fuss and want her nest box, I just put her in a different one and she goes along with everything
