What's so bad about Black Friday again?

Quote:
No thinking here ... I was not budging today. I have gone out for "Black Friday" only once in the past several years, and that was for cotton flannel at the fabric store. My mom worked retail for Sears for 17 years when I was growing up, and some Black Fridays she would come home crying because some customers were just so rude.

BTW, the real reason it's called "Black Friday" is because folks who work the floor in retail dread it so much. I have known this all my life ... only in the past five years have I heard the nonsense about accounting ink and profitability.

Black Friday refers to the term of your sales being in the black which is a good thing. Making profits. But I saw a guy get tazed for wanting a kindle 30 minutes sooner than they went on sale.

Well I went out to six places to inquire about my lost phone.Only thing I noticed was I had to park super far away from the stores, taffic was hell in parking lots, and customer service lines were long. I was so bummed about my phone I forgot to look for deals. I heard on the news about a woman pepper spraying so she could get at Xbox's.Lol, some people!

I ordered stuff online.Saw a lot of things I owuld buy if we had moeny like bikes,mp3 players, and hunting stuff!

I never go out on BF. I get up early and shop online. I get enough good deals that way and I am not out in the cold getting pepper sprayed.

Around here it seems to bring out the worst in people. Rude is putting it pretty mild. I hit Sears about 10 am after the crowds had plundered everything. A few years ago I had a lady crush my hand with her cart. I just said "thanks". Her husband or boyfriend pushes his chest into me and tries to push me backwards and asked if I had a problem. I said no sir. You just took care of it so I held him responsible for her actions and left him lying on the floor. I will not tolerate anyone trying to bully me. It just reminded me how much I can really hate most people.

Dh Sits at home in front of puter and gets the electronics and stuff that he can. DD13 and I go out and get the other stuff. He did radio shack on thursday NO issue. He did toys r us at midnight no problem. DD and I started at Belk at 3 a.m. Could NOT believe the line way longer than last year. Got a few small things there, moved to Penneys, got our few things there. Went to sears did dh's shopping and got a killer deal on dd and my running shoes. Then went to Walmart and I too got DS8 a few pairs of those same jeans!!!

Then went to best buy and finished up dh's shopping and FINALLY at 7 a.m. went to southern states and got our $10 off coupon AND they had doughnuts, hot choclate, coffee and biscuits!!!

DH finished with walmart online at 3 a.m. and he said THAT was frustrating. But we came back at 8 a.m. and we are DONE with ALLL the shopping and got some great deals. Now I can focus on baking!!

We wait for this day to get running shoes, towels and some small appliances. We do well with this plan. Though I admit when I came home I was stunned to see people in NC had been shooting guns. DD said guess that's where small town works for us. She and I split in the store and each gets some of what is on list and then one stands in line.Works for us!

I like Black Friday, but I never go with any expectations. I know that some people like combing through the ads and creating a "battle plan" for themselves, setting themselves up for a huge letdown if things don't work out the way they hope for. I just pick a store and go check it out...if the lines are long, I don't stay. I did some mall and outlet shopping this weekend and got some nice things for sale, but I didn't know what I was going to buy until I got to the store and saw something I liked.
