What's the temperature where you are???

I have never really thought of Maryland having snow or being overly cold, is this unusual?
I’ve lived here 30+ years and have seen single digit nights with wind chills in negative 20’s F a few times but some winters are rather mild, like the last few years. We’re expecting a lot of cold this month though , teens in the mornings and only 20’s some days. I hate the freezing days it hurts my hands because I can’t seem to keep my gloves on. I have so many little things to do for the birds like latches on gates and doors and lids I always take my gloves off sigh🥶

19F and windy @ 19 mph gusts.

The silkies were out earlier for a while as the sun was out, and the wind was not so bad, but most went right back to their coops. Some huddled up against the house near the back deck hoping mom comes out with a treat. Oh, of course. :)

Thursday. I was in shorts earlier
I warmed up after being so cold this morning

For our new breeding coop, we had to buy four latches for four doors. Hubby had the forethought to have us research magnetic latches. That's what he installed. Strong enough a chicken flying up against the door wouldn't open it, but not too strong that I can't. These four doors are inside of a building though. I'd think a raccoon could figure them out and may be strong enough to pull it open if used outside.
