13:30hrs

-5C (23F) and overcast, wind it very light. Calling for a warm spell tomorrow for a few days, with highs around 0C (32F).

Of course the high will only be for about an hr in the afternoon, so I always like ok at the overnight lows to tell me how cold the day will be.

oh well darn that - just checked weather and now it will only be at 0C tomorrow, back to freezing cold temps Monday. And down right Arctic over night temps.

:he

After this past unusually Bizarre weather week
I kind of understand now what you are talking about when you look at your overnight lows to get your daytime highs
Our daytime highs this past unusually bizarre week only lasted for about an hour to an hour and a half and then started rapidly dropping again 🙂

It crazy isn’t it, how the night time temps are so insidious and can control the daytime temps.

Up here daylight hours are way less than night time so the colder temps really take hold.

Soon though the daylight hrs will equal the night time hrs and eventually become greater then night time and the temps will warm up 😊

The further south you go the less extreme the change in hrs is. At the equator the daylight and night time hours are equal (12 hrs daylight and 12 night). Of course up here in the summer it gets light around 4am and doesn’t get dark till almost 10pm.

I have worked way up north were in summer daylight is almost 20 hrs long!
But winter is dark and dreary with almost 20 hrs of darkness. Makes for glorious sunrises and sunsets that can last over an hr!

Such is the cycle of the seasons. Of temperature extremes and scorching summers and freezing winters.
