One of my two week old chicks that is delayed quite a bit in size compared to the other two has somehow hurt her leg. She won’t put weight on it and it purple down thru one of her toes. I can tell she’s in pain is there anything I can do for her?

It looks bruised probably from an injury. I would make sure that she can get to food and water, and feed her throughout the day. A chick sling for periods throughout the day may help with feeding, and help to take pressure of the painful foot for some time. Watch to see that she doesn’t get stepped on or bullied. I wouldn’t try to medicate her for pain. Here is a link for chicken slings and chairs, and the basic design is in post 11:

Ok, I’ll try this. She doesn’t appear to be having trouble eating. I went check on her several times and she was eating a couple times.

If she is walking on her leg and using it, she may not need the chicken sling. But you could make one just in case, and she might eat more when using it. Ideally, she should be running around with her buddies, but she might be able to use a break at times.

She is more sitting down that anything. Like when she eats she sits. I watch her trying to put weight on it and she will balance with her wing and then just sit instead.
