I have 3 cayuga's hen's. . My research lead me to believe they were going to be quite!!!
They are loud and demanding....
The minute they hear me pull into the driveway they start yelling up a storm.
I have to give them some kind of a treat to quite them down.
They are 4 months old.
So far no complaints from my neighbors.
Seriously you can hear them from across the street....

Hopefully they will mellow a bit. If I didn’t want the eggs so bad I would have gotten drakes. The ladies are loud. I thought the Saxony would be a good gentle duck and I’ve since read the girls are very noisy. What can you do?
My neighbors all over 100 yards away thankfully.

My closest neighbors is 5 acres away and they have no problem with my flock and noise. It’s so nice when people move to the country and enjoy it for what it is even the sounds. I love to hear my roosters in the morning and I can hear the rooster across the river sometimes too. My Muscovys are so quite when I got my first Mallered based Runners N Buffs I enjoyed the chatter they made quacking at each other after about 6 months it was only off an on and usually to find the rest of the flock. My youngest still love to quack and I laugh at how much they enjoy hearing themselves. But I know by Dec they will have quieted down quite a bit . This is these 2 breeds might be different with other breeds. To me the quacking is, where are you all ? Or I am just so happy I gotta tell everyone about it!! How many of y’all have dogs around the area that bark non stop . Can’t say how anyone could complain about someone’s ducks quacking.
