I'm considering hatching a fertilized white call duck egg this spring. I live in Connecticut and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find an egg either online or nearby (CT, NY, MA, RI). If any online stores have a minimum order, it needs to be 2 at the highest because I can acommodate two white call ducks, but no more than that. I suppose I'd be open to a white call duckling as well. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This isn't really the season for Calls to be laying. They're usually seasonal layers. You're not going to have much luck finding eggs or ducklings until the spring, probably.

Also, you're going to want to get a lot more than two eggs. Shipped eggs are hard to hatch - you can count yourself lucky if you hatch 50% of them. And Calls are harder still on top of that, especially if they are very typey, meaning of very good show quality. Because of their short necks and beaks, they have a lot of trouble hatching.

Your best bet for eggs is going to be to find a breeder to purchase some from. The best case scenario would be to get eggs local to you that you can pick up. You might try asking on your state thread here if anyone has any Calls and could sell you eggs.

Thank you! Yes, I'm going to be waiting until the spring to begin my egg hunt. I know I should get more than 2 eggs, but I just worry that they'd all hatch and I'd end up with more ducklings than I could care for. I'll try asking CT's state thread, but I don't think I'll have much luck because there's not much of anything in my state, nevermind white call duck hatching eggs. I may just order white call ducklings in the spring if I can't find any eggs.
