Where to place a new roost?

I got tired of all my young Silkies sleeping in the nesting boxes and making them dirty, so I covered the nest boxes last night (uncovered them in the morning) and I tried putting all birds on the roost, only to find out there's not enough space in the roost for everyone. I never noticed before, because only about 4 or 5 out of my 12 Silkies have been using the roost regularly.
The roost is in the corner of the coop. I think the younger pullets don't feel confident enough to fly up that high up though, so I thought I'd make the new roost lower. Only thing is, I've read not to make roosts different heights as it encourages unhealthy flock dynamics? Is this true? My other flock has two roosts at roughly the same height and I've had no issues there.
I'm just worried my Silkies will still refuse to roost even if there's enough space, cause it'll be too high.
So do I add another roost a bit lower to encourage the pullets to roost or do I make it the same height as the current one?

No, this is not true. It can just cause more drama and bickering at roost time.
Please post pictures of your coop as it is currently setup.
I'm personally surprised to read that you Silkies that will fly and roost.

Send a pic of your coop, mine has three roost all at different heights so flightless breeds, babies, and injured birds can still get up. I have one about 2 ft off the ground, one 4ft off the ground, and one 6 ft off the ground.

This is an older picture from before I moved my silkie flock in here but the roost height and placement hasn't changed.
Usually my rooster and the older hens will roost, while the rest sleep elsewhere.

The younger ones take longer, I don’t know if you can see it but there’s an olive egger by the door, an olive egger in the nesting box on the same wall as the camera, and a Guinea in the box on the very far side from the camera on the opposite wall.
