Hello
I would like to get an egg incubator (for chicken eggs) as a backup for when a broody leaves the nest prematurely.

Is the RCom a good brand? Or is the Brinsea better?
It would only be needed for a maximum of 12 eggs.
I am based in the UK.

Many thanks

Also it depends on what you want to spend, and how much you are willing to participate.
I have chosen to have 2 so I can have the chicks hatch in one, and if I wanted to stagger hatch I don't have cold eggs in with already developing eggs. My incubators of choice is a farm innovators for the hatching and LG for incubating, (mostly just because I already have hatched in the FI and the LG so far is pristine.) I also chose these because there is no alarm. Since I dry incubate the first 18 days, I don't need a buzzer telling me I have no water in incubator, in the middle of the night, DH can complain about.

I’m trying a Borotto as a step up from a little giant styrofoam one. First hatch was ducks with just under 50% hatch rate. But the egg turner quit and I didn’t catch it right away to manually turn (I sent the motor back for a free replacement under warranty).
