I have only used one Incubator and it was a Hovabator. I had marginal success but my eggs were shipped across country so I can't say weather it was the incubator or the eggs.
To answer your question; the best incubator is a hen.

My freind has one of these and if the egg is fertile it will hatch. However, the Genesis he got for Christmas last year and he tells me it is as good as the Roll X.

I also love my Buff Brahma bantams. They are the best with call duck eggs. bob

For small hatches, I love the Brinsea MiniAdvance or MiniAdvance EX. They're adorable and my very first hatch, ever, was very successful. So were the successive hatches. Very handy for watching the progress.

My only store bought incubator is a Brinsea, eco20, but 99% of all my hatches are in incubator I have built myself
