Hello! I have a new flock of 8- 13 wks old currently.
2 roosters - Americauna splash? Or silver?
And Whiting True Blue- he's black with copper and green markings.
Only 1 other Americauna she's brown red. Thoughts, when the time comes, which one to breed with.
Other hens are Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Cockoo Marans, Delaware, Speckled Sussex. Thinking of making 2 pens with 3 girls with each rooster.
I think they will all produce chicks which will all lay blue eggs ?
Which combo should I incubate?
Thanks!

The first rooster is an Easter Egger, so there is no guarantee he will pass on a blue egg gene to his offspring. If you’re wanting to guarantee blueish-green eggs, then I’d hatch from the Whiting True Blue rooster. But the Easter Egger rooster is really pretty and you might get an interesting mix of feather colors and egg colors from his offspring!

Thanks! So I got them as chicks from McMurrays, the easter egger is suppose to be an Americauna. Is there a way to tell the difference ?

This article is a good one for learning the difference. It’s basically a confusing marketing tactic that hatcheries use. If you are wanting pure Ameraucanas in the future, I know Cackle and Meyer Hatchery both sell several different colors!

Isn’t the brown one a speckled Sussex? Reminds me of one from what I can see in the pic

Hi, in first photo the one in the back is a speckled sussex pullet. She photo bombed. I was referring to the white one in front and the big colorful dark one in other photo.
