Does anyone have experience with White French Marans egg laying capabilities?

I am new to the Maran breed and am wondering how well Marans lay, how many eggs a week they usually give, how dark their eggs get for people, and do they usually give any eggs in the wintertime?

(So far, my Marans chicks are the biggest sweethearts, are very trusting of me, and so beautiful, I think I am hooked!).

Here’s a picture of the sweeties.

And different maran breed varieties tend to lay dark or lighter browns, I wanted people with experience with the breed variation of White to hopefully tell me what colors they most often get, how many eggs per WEEK their birds are laying, and if they get their birds to lay during the winter time with lights or warmth or none of that supplementation. :)

I did know about the different shades of brown. And I know the rooster who fathered the hens has to do something with the color of the eggs as well. I hope you enjoy being on BYC and find someone who has personal experience with the white Marans. All the best

Hello! I raise and show my white marans . Egg color isn’t the darkest of the varieties but you can work the birds and each generation, the egg color will darken . As far as how many or do they lay in the winter ? All birds vary depending on where, temperature and day light . 😊
