So, I went to check on my chickens this morning. I got three eggs, two brown ones from my golden sex links. To my surprise, the third was white.
Now, here’s the catch. None of my white laying hens are ready yet as far as I know. None of them are doing the squat. The only three that are doing the squat and haven’t laid yet are a Rhode Island red, a barred Plymouth Rock, and a buff Orpington.
The Rhode Island red and the barred Plymouth Rock lay brown eggs, but according to the Internet buff orpingtons lay brown eggs.
I also read that sometimes buff Orpington can lay white eggs.
So, could my buff Orpington have laid this? I’m a little stumped.
Can someone help me solve this mystery? Who laid this?
My flock consists of the following:
1 Austra White (laying)
2 golden sex links (both laying)
2 buff orpingtons (one squatting)
2 Rhode Island reds (one squatting)
2 barred Plymouth Rocks (one squatting)
2 amber whites
2 easter eggers
