Yep, I used to be the same way and still am a little, lol. I think a pro can press the shutter release one time and know whether they nailed the shot. I still take a couple shots and make a few adjustments to get everything just right. And even if it takes a hundred shots its definitely worth it to get one you really like.I don't have an actual camera yet, but maybe eventually... I would enjoy your "basic crash course"! It takes me about 100 pictures to get a good one,
Hmm... why is it showing up SO far away... my camera is literally on it!... Okay, finally close enough... and it won't focus. Oh! It focused!... never mind ARRRRRRRRRG!!! ............................................
That is every picture experience, extremely ANNOYING! But once (if) you get a good one, it is totally worth it!
I think a couple parts will be a little more focused towards shooting with a DSLR but the majority of it applies to photography in general no matter what camera you use, like composition and lighting. I'll do a little write up on it. I actually did the same thing on a different website so I should be able to copy and paste most of it..... hopefully
