Will Buff geese get along with my silkies

Just looking for advice. Just getting set up for 2 female buff geese(raising from goslings) and silkies( female chicks mostly hopefully). Not raising in brooder together. Getting goslings first then chicks. My question is will the geese get along in the same run and pasture with silkies. Had hoped the geese would be guardians. If I were to get a roo silkie which is very possible, I've been told they wouldn't be able to mate with the geese anatomically incompatible. But a male may make them aggressive? The Buffs are supposedly docile as well. After seeing some posts about geese attacking them now I am rethinking. They have a large 10x20 ft run I can partition with their own coups. Any advice is appreciated!

Introducing geese and chickens can be a bit tricky, but with careful planning and management, they can live together peacefully. Geese can be great protectors for your silkies because they naturally want to keep their territory safe and can be pretty fierce towards predators. But it’s important to make sure the geese are friendly and calm around the chickens.

Since you’re getting the goslings first, you can start by raising them separately from the silkie chicks. Once the goslings are about 6-8 weeks old, you can start introducing them to the silkie chicks under close supervision.

Having a big run with dividers is a great idea because this will let you separate the geese and silkies if needed, which will help keep them from fighting. If you do decide to get a male silkie, introducing him can make the other chickens more aggressive, so it’s important to watch them closely.

To make sure they get along, keep an eye on their behavior and step in if you see any signs of fighting. Give them separate areas for eating, drinking, and resting so they don’t compete and get stressed. With enough space, both species can live together comfortably, and watching their interactions, especially when you’re introducing them, will help prevent fights.
