Will domestic ducks mate with wild ducks??

I wouldn't take my domestic duck where wild ducks hang out because of disease and that they may attack. Your duck will be looked on as an intruder.

I have some free range ducks, I just hatched some of their eggs and was joking with my husband that one of our females mated with a wild duck because one duckling looks sooo different than the rest! Then tonight we saw a male and female mallard hanging out in our backyard for several hours, in the same huge puddle our ducks always hang out. I doubt that it really happened but I am wondering, is it possible (or likely) that a wild duck would mate with a domestic duck??
