I would be far more concerned about tapeworm from undercooked pork or fish or getting debris in my lungs from chicken dust. Always wash your hands after, avoid touching your face and you will be fine. I do a mask when cleaning your coop to protect your airways from chicken dust. I was cleaning my coop a couple years ago and the wind blew a nice big pile of dust in my face. I was hacking up a storm for days so now I keep a pack of disposable masks in my barn for cleaning the coop.

We do too, in a quart freezer bag. We are monthly DE users too so wear a mask when doing that as well. We bought a case right before COVID hit of the cheapy kind for mowing lawn too, to help my allergies and those work great for that sort of thing, and still have a ton of them left.

Mine are also post Covid leftovers lol We used to live close to a big city so I initially had quite a few masks stocked up at the beginning of Covid. Then we moved to the middle of nowhere Midwest where no one was using masks so now I have enough masks to last me a lifetime of poop scooping
