Will these eggs even hatch?

Second chick born overnight. It was still a little damp on its legs so not sure how long it's been out. It's supposed to be 108 today...ugh. Last egg has no pips (yet), day 23 today.

Penguin1201, welcome to the forum.
Some friendly advise, if you plan on hatching eggs with your hen. When I have a broody hen, I put some fake eggs in her nest to make sure she is broody. Once I know she will not leave the nest, I separate her from the flock so other hens don't lay new eggs in her nest (if you can separate her, mark the eggs so you can pull out the new ones.) I exchange the fake eggs for real one, this way I calculate when they will hatch. I candle the eggs at night when she wont mind getting moved around. I usually candle them on day 7,14 and 18, any eggs not showing development, I take them out. Good luck in the future.

My last clutch of 7 are due to hatch in 3 days. I candled all the eggs and they look good, except one that has a side air pocket. The heatwave is over for now, my that was terrible! Out of the other batch 2/7 hatched.

I once had a broody hen that we got some eggs from a friend for. They just walked around and were like "yeah, this one might be fertile, idk, I guess we will find out" when they were giving me eggs (they had about 4 roosters and 30 hens) and we didn't know how long the eggs had been out in 100+F weather. Over the next two weeks it hit 104-106 (and there were no fans or misters in the coop) and only went down to about 96 at night, all while Bonnie was sitting on these eggs. Out of 18 we had 14 hatch into healthy little chicks!! I say you have pretty good odds as long as the eggs were fertile to begin with.

after this experience I have no doubts about chickens and how hardy they are. lol. your experience is equally interesting. I know I can barely survive the awful heat, so how these birds do it is amazing to me. the odds are forever in their favor apparently.....

Not going well! Just found a dead prematurely hatched chick under mama, and another one most of the way out but very bloody...not supposed to hatch until Monday. Not sure if the last one will make it. The shell is all the way off but it still had yolk attached to it and the mama hen cleaned that part off

It's breathing but not moving. I'm assuming it's best to leave it alone???

it's been out of the shell for 90 minutes limp still breathing under the mom but not moving

This one has been out of its shell for almost 2 hours now, it's breathing...but still bleeding a little (I've only handled it twice since its hatched, with gloves and quickly). Probably in vain but I gave it a few drops of Sav a chick, it did swallow them but I think it's main issue is not absorbing the yolk all the way...it's more limp now, less reactive. So I think it's on it's way out

Today is day 19 actually...
Edited: That one died too. Another has pipped, I hope it waits awhile longer...These high temps were probably not so good after all. Lesson learned...

Is this a new mother? It sounds to me that she is breaking the eggs open once they have pipped trying to help the chicks from the eggs or.... If you have an incubator or another broody hen consider taking the eggs from the mother and moving them.
