Entry #2: the lady bugs trying to navigate through the snow and eat the grass poking through where they can.

Beautiful photos. My chickens act like snow is made of acid. Is that an agave plant, or aloe in the foreground? It doesn't look like it likes the snow, and I wouldn't want to accidentally fall on it.
It’s a Yucca plant I have to remember to walk around it’s pokey if I’m not paying attention and walk into it. My chickens are much happier today because the snow is melting so they are much happier now than they were with the snow.

I was thinking the snow must not be normal for you, but after looking it up yucca can be hardy to zone 4 which I had forgotten. It does look like a very healthy plant.

It’s been a dry winter until now this has been our first good snowfall we still need more hopefully we will get more snow. Even though the chickens don’t like the snow we need it.

It does help to replenish the water table every year. We don't as much snow here anymore. Hardly seems like winter.
