No need to worry about etiquette; Jim NEVER does.....

then we have all of these other people who keep their minds in the gutters..... who will remain nameless.

I have no idea bout butchering, just send Jim a PM and he will give you the sordid details.

snooze rooster,, welcome.. It was me that talked to you on the phone.. I could tell you who to look out for here.. I won't single out anybody in particular,, just steer clear of anybody who is of the female gender..

there is very little formality here.. HeII, there is hardly any civilization.. Most of us are paper trained, but not much more than that..

You do not want to put the chickens into luke warm water.. cool them down in cold water.. with the weather so cold, you can let them stay in the water over night.. then they are ready for the freezer.. rigor sets in within 6 hours and should be gone after 12 hours.. that is not scientific,, that is how I do mine.. we have already gone to the freezer within a couple of hours.. I could not detect any difference..

I had a hard time posting my morning gossip.. I did go and check on Ollie,, still did not start on it.. delivered the eggs and picked up a couple of hundred pounds of cracked corn.. picked up a can of Hollendaise sauce powder mix from the restaurant and made Eggs Benny after I got home..It turned out way better than my attempt at making it from scratch..

Now for a few games of Free Cell and maybe a nap,, then I will have the gramma watch tonight.

JIM! I cant believe you said watch out for the female gender.

Honestly Snooze, WELCOME, and you can say pretty much what you want and how you want to. People try to overlook the crochety ones (aka the paper trained ones), and the rest of us are golden. (Watch the politics and religion though... that lends to bad blood pretty fast)

I will warn you there are quite a few chicken enablers on here. But they're good enough to give advice as to how to raise, or butcher, whatever they enabled you with!

Oh and Babylady is our resident soap maker. In case you ever want to try hand made soap. (She's smarter than she looks).

CC is a rocker and a "roller" (you'll figure that one out eventually).
Bigz and Doc are just sweet old guys. (but they have their own way of spelling that must drive their computers crazy)
Cind and Frenchie keep strange hours and will post good stuff at crazy times.
TerriO is an animal lover/borderline animal hoarder. (LOLOLOL, I couldnt resist!)
Unk likes to live in a greenhouse, and get tons of manure for fun (gives a bit out as well)
and Jim... he's something special. You'll find that out soon enough...

There are lots more awesome folks that post on here, but those above are the pretty regular crowd. Good to know tidbits so when you see them on here you can remember them quicker. And don't kill me about who i didn't specifically mention. My brain is cold....

Jim, only you could get a sore back from laying in a recliner.

Sandi, thanks for the suggestion, but I checked her over for bugs first thing. I don't know if bugs would cause blood in the stool?

I tried posting a pic but it didn't work. I'll try again later.

Afternoon everyone

my hubby is working on insulating the big coop right now.

I'm tired of how stupid my silkies are. Who is it on here that has to throw chickens in the coop? I have had to throw the dang silkies in every night since they moved into an outside coop!!! It is SO old. Stupid things just sit in the rain unless i go throw them in. Honestly... anyone insterested in my dumb silkies???

My possible poodle pup was born. Or the litter was. Momma poodle just had 11 pups last night!

that's it for now
