My mother and I have been watching a house finch nest (through a spy cam) and have been doing everything we can to create a "human-free"/ stress-free environment in order to not risk her loosing another cluch of eggs. (She nested there 2 years ago and abandoned the nest). Anyways, it is a hot day today (97 °F - ish) and she has only been coming back to the nest about every hour to turn her eggs. Is this normal or should I call the rescue? (Taking fetile eggs from native birds is ILLIGAL where I live)

I wouldn’t mess with them. 97F is pretty high, and the eggs should be fine without her constantly sittin on em.

I am not an expert but...
I can think of two possibilities.
1) She hasn't started brooding yet. Momma birds will lay an egg a day for several days and then go about their business until they have layed the last egg. Only then do they start sitting on them consistently. That way all eggs start to develop at the same time.
2) 97 degrees is close enough to brooding temperature that she just isn't worried about them getting cooled off and feels that it's safe to leave them for extended periods of time.
I don't think you need to worry about them.
