Don't you have coops to build?Yes! You need more so you can post pictures so I can enjoy them without expanding my own flock size(anymore than I already am)
I'd like to have a 4x4 to 5x5 elevated coop with a 5x8 run, I could put this in my existing 10x20 run without any chickens sacrificing too much on the space because some of the ones currently using the run would be spit up into the new coop/run. Then I'd have one more spot to stash some breeders.Don't you have coops to build?
Oh, wait....so do I.
Nevermind![]()
The beard gene which also causes the muffs in ameraucanas is autosomal. If it has varied, it is just because easter eggers are crosses, so the mother was heterozygous for the beard and muffs.I was very happy seeing her lay Olive. She is my first girl from Esther my EE, so wasn't sure if she'd lay brown or olive. I tried last year and only got 3 boys and this year hatched 2 boys with this girl.
I'd like to get a few more this year.
A question maybe you can answer for me, the 2 boys both had muffs, she doesn't?
And if I hatch more will they be the same muff less girls, or possibly get some with?
I need to do this same thing in the Marans run. The boys are using that run. Kong uses the back run and Kings run which are connected while King is free ranging then I close off the back run when I switch them out.I'd like to have a 4x4 to 5x5 elevated coop with a 5x8 run, I could put this in my existing 10x20 run without any chickens sacrificing too much on the space because some of the ones currently using the run would be spit up into the new coop/run. I had a feeling it would be hit and miss because I was shocked when I saw muffs on the 2 boys this time as I could have swore I didn't see muffs on the 3 boys last year. The beard gene which also causes the muffs in ameraucanas is autosomal. So there is a possibility to makes and females with and without them.
Thank you !!They're looking great!
