Wrath's Marans

I like this guy! (don't ask for the why )
So do I. He reminds me alot of Kong with his copper and big comb.

I have one Black Ameraucana that I absolutely adore. She lays the nicest blue eggs and is honestly a very sweet bird. They don't lay a crazy amount of eggs I've heard though (200 ish) a year.
I think that's about right, I have one as well and it seemed she took forever to start laying, hers are really close in color to my EEs so it's hard to tell exactly how much she is laying but I don't think it's a lot. But, she is so cute!

Very pretty! Love the speckling on the one. My BCM's aren't laying its just the cuckoo's/easter eggers who started relaying the past few days. Very jealous of the color :)

Thanks...adding lights kick-started both flocks. I'm at 12 hrs now (6-6) but will be bumping it a half hour tomorrow.
I need those speckles to spread and cover 🙂

I kinda just let nature take its course. Mine had a hard molt this year so trying to let them get their feathers sorted before adding extra light. One of my blue's is excitedly broody so I'm happy to maybe have a surrogate in a month or two for some newbies :)
Completely understand. This is my first year with adding lights and I waited for molts to be well over. I'd like to start hatching by mid to end Feb this year (a full month earlier than last) or I normally would have let them rest the longer period also.

Whoohoo, chicks in about 5 or 6 weeks!

All those eggs from today are really pretty.

So, black eggs huh, how do you get those? Other than Cayuga ducks right?
