symptoms are back again....had wry neck several times and treated with vitamins daily with good results for almost a month...now he started again, but it only happens at night when I put him in the coop...if I pick him up and put him outside again he's fine, walks around upright.
It is the strangest thing....I have been trying to introduce the two silkies to the big coop at night because it will be cold soon and there is no heat in the small coop where they have been at night. But Hoppy rolls over with his head all twisted every time I put him in.
I don't know if stress plays a part in this? He seems aggressive with the hens doing his little dance next to them and sometimes they peck him, but not in the head that I ever saw. I think he is the more dominant of the two roos. I just don't get it.
Has anyone ever had this problem?

Are you treating with thiamine (vitamin B1,) vitamin E, and the mineral selenium, found in egg, tuna, and some nuts and seeds? Is your chicken feed fresh dated and a complete feed? He could have a hereditary predisposition to wry neck, but some diseases can cause it as well. I would Google "crook neck in chickens," and you will find seceral good articles to read, including a couple of BYC threads that may help.

Yes to the vitamins and I have read a few good articles ...Thank you.
I'm thinking hereditary because he's had problems earlier in life with a bad leg which has healed.
