I'm building a walk in tunnel for my broccoli this year. Pvc or emt? What do you guys think? Emt will last years and keep it's form. Pvc is cheap and bendy but not really uv stable.
I have some of that. But the way my beds are set up the cukes would only be accessible from the front. So it has to be some trellis shape that I can harvest through.
Do you have a preferred style of cucumber trellis? I don't want to do a netting or string. Thinking of leaning some small poles against the back fence and doing some cross poles.
Finally getting around to planting the last of the garden. It's been raining everyday. Feast or famine here for rain the last few years.
Anyway. Decided to start training the turkeys on pest control. Cute little buggers. Snatching up all the ants and other little crawlies. Hopefully they stick...
I do like their stuff and prices but the pick ups can be very annoying. Of course I'm on the tail end of the farthest route, so any delays along the way throw off the drop off time .
I've never been a fan of crocs. I prefer an open toe with a heel strap. And the hose them out convenience is something I've never missedeven with leather sandals.
I would try throwing some mulch around the base and watering that. It should hold the water in long enough to soak through.
Once your grapes start you try could covering them with some organza bags. Cheap and come in all sorts of sizes. I use them to isolate squash flowers when I want to save seeds.
Anybody know of a good brand of outdoor sandles? I absolutely destroy them every year. Haven't been able to find a pair that lasts more then 1 season for 5-6 yrs. Getting tired of the flip flop effect of a broken one.
'twas a Long battle. Hard fraught, over multiple days. Battling the sun, the clay, the most vile of enemies, Deer Flies. And the clock ever ticking onward.
Victory was achieved tho, At such a late hour.
The Potatoes are In.
Your best bet would be to find the number for your local ups distribution. It might take a call to the 1800# and demanding to speak with your routes supervisor/distributerto locate your Perishable package. But it can be done. And if you can snag their local number, tell them you have phone...
Haven't checked in here In quite a while. Job and life got busy. Then the weather all spring didn't help. Rain ontop of rain. Then dry dry dry fricken dry.
Have only just got my broccolis and cabbage in yesterday. Haven't finished weeding or prepping the beds for the tomatoes and peppers. And...
Lol! They are tiny! Not going to drag me Anywhere. And raised bed is not quite correct, terraced beds would be more correct. And it will fit nicely down my walkways.
I need someone else to appreciate my trash picking find today.
Ain't they Great! One of them started right up! Been looking for one for my raised beds. These'll be PERFECT!
:wee
Edit for spelling
Same. At least it has for me the last few years with my work schedule. I needed 3 alarms to be up by 5.30 6 days a week. For some reason any day off would have me awake before my alarms would go. It sucks.
Adulting was indeed hard today. Worked an extra shift last night as a favor, managed to sleep in till after 9. Chickens may have gotten butchered(just) but garden didnt get cleaned out nor did the last of the potatoes get dug.
Sorry I dropped of the grid for a while. Got a new job and have had far, FAR too much going on to garden let alone post.
We are expecting our 1st freeze tonight so I scrambled to get home early and pull in the last of the peppers and get the winter squash under cover.
