I cleaned her as best I could, and she's maggot free. There is some manure that refuses to come off, I'll have to soak her to get the rest. Her vent looks like it's poking out a bit, there's a clump of tissue outside of the entrance.

Breaking the egg prematurely could kill them. I would suggest not touching it until it fully hatches or dies.

I think there are maggots coming out of my chicken's ***. Something has been off about this chicken for about a week, I took a look at her today because there was poop stuck to her, and there were maggots. I don;t know where there are any chicken vets where I live; how do I deal with this??

Right now I have them in the coop in a wire dog crate. I put a board on top of the crate so my hens wouldn't poop on them. I put the Leghorns in the run, and they seemed to be taking up the entire space by flying everywhere. Is 64sq ft enough for 7 birds?

My chicks are about 12 weeks old, now. I've been letting them freerange, I just have to keep an eye on them. I've noticed that they tend to eat everything... from bugs and grass to jewlweed. I even saw one jump for a leaf on a holly bush (she didn't eat it). Something that's been bothering...

My chicks didn't like me, either. Now they're almost two months, and they still shy away, but not as much as before. Thye have to grow to like you. Just be calm and friendly and gain their trust.
