I got some chick starter and it smells really good like some type of herb. Do you guys know what it might be the label didn’t say anything. I had 2 types of feed to offer and 1 smelled like nothing but they gobbled this one down. It was the manna pro medicated chick starter.
Does anyone have any idea which breed this hen is? She’s the oldest one and I have never known. I don’t know if it helps but she has a pea comb and leg feathers you can’t see. She lays brown eggs and is heavy. Very similar to the chicken shown in this thread but different colored eggs...

it’s a little dog box with a ramp. I am planning on putting pine shavings and a small waterer and feeder on the inside and to makea little free range area that the ramp leads to. Does that sound good? Thanks for the help!
I’ve decided to put out broody chicken in a little box to hatch her chicks. I was planning on getting chick feed for them and water and grit. Will the mom eat the same stuff or should I get her something separate? Is there even any need for chick food separate than the feed the broody hen will eat?
