I got some chick starter and it smells really good like some type of herb. Do you guys know what it might be the label didn’t say anything. I had 2 types of feed to offer and 1 smelled like nothing but they gobbled this one down. It was the manna pro medicated chick starter.

10 days. It happened late November and stared laying a few weeks after late November. Its been a while but still not sure if eggs are safe.

How common is it for chickens to get Marek‘s? Thankfully I haven’t dealt with it but do you recommend taking precautions for it?

Does anyone have any idea which breed this hen is? She’s the oldest one and I have never known. I don’t know if it helps but she has a pea comb and leg feathers you can’t see. She lays brown eggs and is heavy. Very similar to the chicken shown in this thread but different colored eggs...

Btw I found a waterer that does the job.

Hey! One of my chickens lately has been laying abnormally large eggs with a little calcium deposit on top. She had an infection a while back but now she’s her usual self. Is this normal and safe to eat?

I got chick feed but one chick hatched 3 days early! Im making one right now but what waterer and feeder would you recommend for the chicks? also there is a mama hen.

Could we also just use layer feed like is it just a difference in marketing?

In a few days a few chicks are supposed to hatch and we had a few questions. Should we buy feed or can we make it ourselves? We will only be able to keep them for a week or so, so buying feed for those few days seems like a waste. If we did make our own feed would you recommend putting the Corid...

it’s a little dog box with a ramp. I am planning on putting pine shavings and a small waterer and feeder on the inside and to makea little free range area that the ramp leads to. Does that sound good? Thanks for the help!

I’ve decided to put out broody chicken in a little box to hatch her chicks. I was planning on getting chick feed for them and water and grit. Will the mom eat the same stuff or should I get her something separate? Is there even any need for chick food separate than the feed the broody hen will eat?
