I have 20 Feeedom Rangers hatched first week of September. I'd get them processed now but the two processors in my area are booked up with turkey orders so it might be a few more weeks. Apart from just being bigger, how does that affect the meat? What's the optimal age range? Thx

Got cats, done that. They just climb up and out of the pen -- either bored or scared.

We have chickens and ducks -- and rats. Until it got cold in December, I was setting snap traps and eliminated 60 of them over a couple months. They also wised up and we were unsuccessful with the traps since then. That 60 was like the tip of the iceberg and the population has really exploded...

I supplement their feed with niacin after one of mine went "lame" -she couldnt stand. It cleared up within a week and no recurrence since with the niacin.

Hatch started yesterday morning and I found it was done in the evening. Blanche, the brooding hen, was not sitting close to her duck hatchling, who was splayed out in the hay bedding. Blanche pecked at me and the baby and, with a cool night ahead, i decided not to risk it.
