I got an email on Tuesday from the hatchery saying that the chicks shipped. The hatchery is in Ohio, we're in Michigan, so it was basically overnighted. A grand total now of 12 dead. 12, out of 26. A 50% mortality rate. The hatchery did give me a refund.

I have been wiping butts. I'll leave them be for a few hours, check on them and three seemingly healthy chicks will be dead. I have never had a high mortality rate like this before. It's a little scary and frustrating
