Anyone near Whitmore Lake/Ann Arbor have jubilee orpingtons? I'm looking to add to ours and we were planning on hatching eggs, but our rooster isn't doing his job.

Elevating it is a good idea, I may put it on blocks. It is 2x8'. The plan is to use the remaining 2'x4' osb and hardware mesh to cover it.

That is very cool.

I have been letting them out a bit at a time with no problems. On a side note, the addition of a rooster seems to have stopped the fighting among the hens.
