Hi everyone,
I hatched three baby chicks of Light Sussex two weeks ago. I have a dog (female), that is usually pretty gentle and obedient. She has never given me problems with the flock, which she was introduced to as a puppy. She has never attacked one of my big chickens.
But now she seems...
Hi @Tookie and sorry because i didn't answer anymore, thank you for asking ❤️
Mari passed away right the morning after my last message, she died near me and i had the time to thank her for all the time spent together and all the love she gave me. it was very painful for me, i knew her since i...
Thank you so much, i will monitor her abdomen. ❤️ today she ate a scrambled egg with lot of pleisure. I think that she could have problems in eating by having a piece of the beak that is broken. There is a sort of ledge on it and maybe she struggles to grab the food pieces. i will let you know...
All my other ISAs died of illness at pretty young age so I perfectly understand! :hugsMari survived to a heatstroke and to a respiratory virus that killed 4 of her sisters, and she strangely didn't catch the egg yolk peritonitis that killed the other two. She is like an iron-chicken 😅
So I went...
I was fearing this but wanted to be sure that I was doing all the possibile to nake her be well...
They have the food dispenser avaible so I will check if she is eating regularly. It seems like her crop is nornally emptying.
I think she has not laid an egg for a few weeks: she incredibly laid...
Hi all!
My chicken Mari is almost 10yy old and i observed this strange signs:
-she always wants to stay sat down in the ground
-she is a bit letargic (not so much, she is conscient and vigile) and she has relaxed muscles, like she has not much strenght
-she does watery trasparent stools with...
Up
This morning she was better. I had to put her outside in a cage because she started to jump and poop on the furnitures 😌
Anyway, she did not make other worrying sounds (only a small rattle during drinking). I am giving egg with ricotta and egg with cereal milk. I fear to give her solid...
She made right now a watery mucous poop with a brome that had some red spots, i
suppose blood.

Maybe this is the reason of today's episod? I really hope, what do you think? Or maybe she found it in the room while she was recovering. She ate some egg with cereal milk and drank a bit...
I will take a picture of what i can see inside the beak asap. I found that in Italy Chemisole 2,5% is used for little birds like parrots, is it fine? Panacur is avaible to, but it can be sold only with the prenscription and I'm struggling to find a vet near me. What is the wet form of fowl poi...
Thank you so much for your reply and for your support :hugs when my dad will be back at home we will try to carefully feed her with something liquid or very soft. Yes, she is drinking a bit. She seems to be very better now, she walks and she is talkative, but I fear it can happen another time if...
You are so kind! Thank you, and sorry for my intrusion in your 3d. Our situations seem very similar,i am happy that Goldie is doing fine overall. For today, I'm going to feed my Mí with some cereal milk, or egg with maybe some soft cheese like ricotta. Let's keep us updated, it is so conforting...
Hi eggcessive :hugs
thank you for having memory of my previous problems. This time it seems completely differen from the others: no respiratory signs like mucus from nostrils, sneezing, rattling..no one. She only risks to chocke while eating. if she drinks little amounts of water, she is well...
