Follow up question...I've raised Black Sex Link, RIR, Isa Browns, Golden Comets, Jersey Giants in the past. I assume these are mixed breeds. How do mixed breed hens (and one rooster) compare with an established breed?

The lady who gave them to me said the eggs were brown. I saw a couple and they were a very light brown.
