I have only been hatching 1x per year the last couple of years and can't remember what time of day I set the eggs so that most of the eggs will hatch while the kids are at school. I am considering staggering the time of day that I put the eggs in so that there will be some hatching all day...

I ordered one this week - will get it in 2 weeks...will let you know what kind if I can.

I have 2 females that did not grow up together who live in the same Hutch just fine. They even raised their litters together last spring

Are there other roosters or just hens? I've not had to do that with more than 1 rooster, but I had to reintroduce my rooster to the girls when he got hurt in the spring. I'd just watch a couple of days, things should settle back down once they reestablish pecking order.

a good round # is 20 weeks of age for laying. Some individual birds may lay sooner, some breed can lay later. I never start looking for eggs till 20 weeks....then if I get one early, I'm more excited

I usually go to around 65%....some go lower and have good results. Once you lock it down, DO NOT OPEN until all the chicks are hatched ( if at all possible ) carton or laying down - everyone will have a different opinion. I've done it both ways. Carton is cleaner and chicks do well...

We kept ours separated for a short time, but then put them together since the babies kept getting through the divider. We had 2 mamas and 15 babies together at 1 point!
