    Chicken with very swollen eye!

Thanks so much Glenda. That makes total sense now, she was breathing with her beak open tonight. Poor girl! I'll do everything you said tomorrow. Is this serious or will she recover? I hate to have a favorites but she really is a good chicken. Thanks, Jen

    Chicken with very swollen eye!

My Salmon Fav. Ines was perfectly fine when I gave her a treat this afternoon, I came back out of the coop (she's a free ranger) two minutes later and she was lying on her side on the ground. She looked dead! When I went to pick her up she got up and walked normally. When I examined her more...

They don't look like any off the fleas, lice or mites that I googled. I'm going to tractor supply now to see what I can find.

Help, bugs in my coop....don't know what they are!

Hi Everybody, I went in my coop today to find a bunch of bugs around the edge of a bowl that had some food scraps in it. They are tiny!! When I took the bowl outside to see better they immediately crawled up my arms. They are so small it's hard to even see what they are, they can crawl and...

Help, have question about broody hen

After a few years of raising chickens I finally have my first broody hen. She has spent the last 5 days in the same nesting box on 9 eggs. I've seen her get off for food and water but she has gone right back. Tonight I found her in another nesting box with only one egg. In her former spot...

Gentle Hen for companion wanted in CT or NY border

I sadly only have 1 SF left and don't plan to get any others. The young Buff Orps I had her in with have just started picking on her. She has her own small coop which I moved her back to yesterday but I'm just worried she will be cold in the winter all by herself. She free ranges all day and...

Gentle Hen for companion wanted in CT or NY border

Hi Blue Moon, The Ameraucanas sound promising. I've heard that people have luck keeping them together with Faverolles. I'm sorry to say I have nothing to swap though, we have 22 chickens of different breeds but they are all too dear to part with. I'm happy to buy an Ameraucana or two from you...

Gentle Hen for companion wanted in CT or NY border

Preferably full grown, I've had her in a pen with some 7 month old Buff Orps. They've been getting along great until recently I've noticed Ines is missing a few back feathers. Ines is 2 years old and really needs a docile friend. Thanks

Gentle Hen for companion wanted in CT or NY border

Thanks but I don't think either of those breeds will mix well with a Faverolle, they are extremely docile.

Gentle Hen for companion wanted in CT or NY border

I'm looking for a hen of a gentle breed to live in a small coop with my Salmon Faverolle, Ines. Ines is very gentle and needs either, another Faverolle or Ameraucana to keep her company. I would consider a Faverolle rooster if anyone has one. Winter is approaching and I'd like to get her a...

Please help me with my Rcom 20 question

Thanks so much, that was helpful. I think there is something wrong with mine. I spoke with the tech today, he was very helpful. I went back an hour later and there was water all over the counter coming from underneath. Not good, I'm guessing so I think I'll call tomorrow and get another one...

Please help me with my Rcom 20 question

Thanks Twigg, There is no start button but there is a set button. The default humidity is 45%, when I press the set button and hold it like the manual says it does flash 45% but just hasn't come close to reaching that in 7 hours. I guess I'll have to check it again later. Thanks, Jen

Please help me with my Rcom 20 question

Hi Everybody, This is my first time using my incubator, I've had it running for about 7 hours. The temp. inside has almost reached the optimum number but the humidity isn't going over 8% in the last few hours. The manual is translated into English from Korean and is a very bad translation...
