The first Celadon egg hatched this morning. One more is talking, but nothing else is out yet.

Popping in to show the quail pen decorated. She tried to decorate the chicken coop, but the power line down there needs replaced.

I’m popping in to share a picture of the quail in their winter pen. The dingbats won’t sleep in any of the caves, so I added a tarp to the side where they do sleep.

It turned out I still had a female quail from last year. :lol: Duckling and I have both crunched eggs in the indoor pen. I don’t know how old they are, but they are passing the float test, so I’m gonna incubate them.

I wasn’t sure the quail were tall enough. My old ones need replaced.

They already knocked over the water. The gallon feeder and waterers work better, but that’s another project.

I have to add hideouts, but at least they are out of the house.

I have what I need, but out of twelve, that would be pretty bad. For breeding anyway. Great for eating.

I had to clean the brooder again, and Duckling caught the chicks. She checked their chests, and told me if they were boy or girl. I might only have 2 or 3 girls. :gig It’s what I hoped for, but it means I really do need to keep them inside a while to ensure I can get fertile eggs to breed more...

Duckling prefers raw cookie dough. I can’t remember the last time she actually ate a cookie.

I still think I should give these quail to the broody. It's time to clean the brooder, and I don’t want more chickens. Perfect solution! :clap
