I’m popping in to share a picture of the quail in their winter pen. The dingbats won’t sleep in any of the caves, so I added a tarp to the side where they do sleep.
It turned out I still had a female quail from last year. :lol: Duckling and I have both crunched eggs in the indoor pen. I don’t know how old they are, but they are passing the float test, so I’m gonna incubate them.
I had to clean the brooder again, and Duckling caught the chicks. She checked their chests, and told me if they were boy or girl. I might only have 2 or 3 girls. :gig It’s what I hoped for, but it means I really do need to keep them inside a while to ensure I can get fertile eggs to breed more...
I wish it were warm enough here. Sixty-something down to the thirties the next day, up to the fifties... :he As it is, I removed the light for good today.
