I walked out the front door this morning and hit a spider web with my face, Danged Golden Orb Weavers are busy atm. They can spin a web in no time.. wasn't expecting that.
Well, I went out to fill water buckets and get a few of the kids penned up. Hose in the back yard had turned into Yellowstone.. Wonder how much water escaped in the few hours it was going.. Then found one of the silkie chicks in with Mara and her 3 kids.. Oh golly! Lastly a few of the 15 week...
@microchick Little Willameena Wonka is grown up. At 19 weeks she laid her first egg. Wasn't expecting eggs for another few weeks. Willameena is the bantam BCM you wanted when she was still tiny. Her's is the egg in front of the group.
Today's prize goes to my Calico Princess hens. Not their eggs in the photo but something they dug up outside their pen. Last week it was a little bus. Could be from a fairy egg, maybe?
Darned if I'm not down by another full sized laying hen. Missy, Mara the BCM's daughter, decided to go broody. So, she and Owlie, One of Muffin's daughters are sitting in the hen house. Couldn't they have done that when the weather was cooler? I understood that hens would take a winter break...
Already cleaned up around the pens today.. 19 week olds and younger chicks are out with K.E. and his ladies.. Crow a 19 week old got a bit uppity and either K.E. or the older hens put him in his place.. All in all things are going swimmingly.
