So last week USDA announced that avian influenza has been found in dairy herds in Kansas and Texas! Sick cows, virus found in their milk. Another troubling cross species event, for sure. That milk is all destroyed, and another reminder that using raw dairy products is NOT SMART!!!

It's called in tested, and reported when official. Nothing underhanded about it, and information that needs to get out, so we can better protect our flocks. Again, ugh!

We have wild turkeys here too, and no information about sick ones. It would depend on someone finding and reporting dead/ dying birds, and then testing happening.
