My lab gets along great with my birds, sometimes he feels the need to run through them when they're all in a group waiting for treats, but if I give him a bone and he is chewing it in the yard they'll come peck it with him.
After many hours of staring at my chicks who are bow out with my big birds, most of them are the size of my bantams now.
I have

1 self blue d'uccle

His foot is not crooked, or anything. It is crushed. 2 of his toes on the outside of his foot. I am thinking it happened before I decided to put them in 2 separate brooders, maybe it even happened when he was in the box one his way here will all the other chicks.
He is just as active as all...
I'm going crazy, mine are 5 weeks on Monday. I am starting to figure out I have a few brahmas, and definitely Columbian Wyandotte's. I have some white chickens with grey eyeliner I call it.
A lot of Cochin's, one of which has a half crushed foot, so he hops, it happened when he was a week old...
How much is feed by you? I pay 15 dollars for 50 pounds. In Northern NY.
My 43 and 3 ducks went through about a bg every week and a half. My current adults go through 160 pounds every other week, which is 36 dollars for 80 pounds of corn and 80 pounds of layermash.
So I'm not too excited in...
I use one of the red and white plastic feeders_ I think they're like 7 pounds or something, I only fill it half way in the morning and the same at night for my surprise which is 42 chicks and 3 ducks. They waste so much if I fill it all the way. So yes, they run out during the day, but are...
I haven't ever gotten mixed breeds from McMurray, they re just hatchery quality, so they aren't going to be as nice as if you get them from a breeder. Do you have any pictures of your chickens from McMurray?
Oh yes I did see that looking yesterday, there are just so few other than cochins , it didn't stick in my head. I know I have no salmon favorelles, and none of the babies look how my brahmas looked as babies.
Mine are just starting to get feathers so in a few more weeks I should know what most...
The second one is a German spitzhauben.
Not sure what the first one is. Yours look to be the same as mine and I am just starting to try and figure out more of what I have.
A lot of mime have feathered feet. Cackle only has Cochin for feather footers in standard breeds if I'm not mistaken. So I...
This thread is the reason I ordered mine... I saw it on the website so I googled reviews on it and found this! Haha. I lost 1 in my ship ment but I had 3 more that look just like it... not sure what they are yet.
I didn't get any turkeys. And am still trying to figure out what more than half my chicks are. They are 2 weeks. I just can't wait for them to get bug and all feathered out!
I can already feel it, next year I am going to have to order another surprise.
I'm thinking maybe for in June though, thats when they start shipping guineas... I wonder if that would also give me a better selection, since a lot of people order first thing in the spring?
Or I wonder if in the...
I was hoping to get golden laced polish! Or turkens. You lucky duck! @tookietoo
I have a little blue chick I cannot figure out for the life of me what it is no feathers on its feet either.
I have a lot of chipmunk chicks. One is all red with lighter red stripes, and I have quite a few grey...
I got my babies! 42 chicks and 3 ducks. Only 1 DOA! One is acting kind of strange and I may lose him. He will eat and drink and run around but get tired much faster than the others. I hope he makes it because it is a silver polish!
I also got white crested black polish and I think a sultan?
I...
Okay! I am so excited. Crossing my fingers they're here tomorrow! My local p.o. doesn't open until 8.
My boss said if they come I can leave work around 9 then come back after I get them settles.. I work in a school cafeteria, so that's in between breakfast and lunch, of course once the post...
