Hehe. Some eggs that I had traded out for were supposed to be Polish/ Naked Neck cross, well the brown eggs turned out to be Sizzles. So Iglesias I'll raise some Sizzles. They'll go to my grandsons when they ( the chicks) are older.

Yes still quite a few. @mlm Mike I expected a few maybe not quite that many though. There's were some eggs I had bought at an auction that 7 out of 12 were clear that is what really hurt the percentage. Then out of my eggs a lot of the clears were pullet eggs. I've noticed before that...

One week candle. Pulled out 37 clears. Left with 96 eggs. There were another two that I couldn't tell for sure the green color was a tad but dark so I couldn't tell for sure but I think they were clear also.

Most should be Naked necked, there will be a few that turn out fully feathered though, especially the Polish crosses.

Okay now I've officially caught up. I rally went through and read a the posts. On the feed thing. I switched to a 22% Game Bird layer feed, about three months ago, maybe it's been 4, anyway, my birds love it. After about a month and half their laying had picked up and seems like the eggs...

So sorry to hear about your job loss. I was there just a little over a year ago. Finally found a job after 10 months without one. It only pays about half if what I was making, but it gets me by and I still have my chickens. Hope you find something soon.

I'm going to try an experiment this time around. They say that pullets hatch from the more rounded end eggs and cockerels from the more pointy ones. Them I'm going to do the pin thing over them also. Round and round pullets back and forth cockerel. Double check them you see. I trying to...

My April hatch is over. 54 put of 70 eggs. Just a tad bit over 77% hatch rate/ fertile eggs. Over all was almost 73%. Only four eggs set weren't fertile. I'll post pictures tomorrow when I pull them out. These will be on the April Hatch thread. I'll post what I'm setting when I get them...

I'm setting Naked Necks and some Naked Necks and some naked Necks. Then some that probably won't turn out Naked Nevked.
