I believe the gentle giant thing is based upon their easy interaction with people. I have yet to own a Malay but if I had one that didn't act as yours did, I eat the thing!
Good looking bird! Which one tried to put the hammer on your wife?? I have forgotten. I'd keep him for sure, so you would have some place to run when she got on the Warpath...
She might not like the bird and he might know it! lol
What did you think of 'Redman' on the other thread? If I hadn't already bought Shorty, I'd give him some real consideration!!!
RON
I know but I'll let JR tell you. Just look where he lives...the proximity to Mexico...kinda' obvious to me since I've spent too much time in Mexico when I was a bit younger...
I would love to see someone (an idiot) try to wring your 'Malay's' neck. I don't really want to see a bird hurt but I would like to see someone 'wrestle' one of those 350 pounders and try to take it to the ground. I don't really know much about this variety of MALAY but I would bet the farm on...
He got an arrow flung through him and his jacket will become a rug but not for us. One of my son's buddies took care of the problem while we were in NYC and he is having the rug made for his bedroom.
I have seen no good reason to roost any of my breeds higher than 24 inches, even smaller birds. My chickens have very large areas to range and a couple of good dogs to keep critters away from them during the day and...some very severe dogs to protect the area at night. These night dogs would...
I start all my chicks (inside) with a 2X2 roost and when they are moved out, they have 2X4s, widest side up and no more that 24 inches off the ground.
Northern Saipans huh?
HAHAHA...I FULLY understand the hybrid vigor sentiment!!! But they seem to have no feathers on their breast. Still looking at a bird or three from a guy in Virginia, perhaps in spring.
Where did you get those Saipans? You can reply as PM if you wish. I lile the ones I saw on Cackle's website but I fear it's far too cold for them here.
