Goose house?

You can get a special adhesive for mirrors that comes in a tube you put in a caulk gun. I will get some of that, plus use fasteners if it still doesn't feel really secure. I wouldn't want it to break or come off the wall and hurt the geese. I am getting two Dewlap Toulouse young ganders, but I know those boys will like looking at themselves every bit as much as girls would. Boys are even more vain sometimes!

I would not use the corner mirror brackets that use screws or nails to hold them and the mirror. Geese will bill at the, and could start working them loose and eat them. Adhesive is a better option, wood frame around the outside if you want a second level of securing since uninsulated none heated buildings could cause the adhesive to release.

We use parrot mirrors hung in the breeding yards on the fence when we set them up. The geese love having them as well as the toys that get hung for them.

Celtic, do you use parrot toys for your geese? What kind do yours like best? So far the only toy i've given mine are some floating balls in their pool. Sometimes i play kick the ball with them, they run after the ball and push it with their bill.

I'm hoping it's not too late on this thread for an answer. I have a goose that was rescued on July 4th. Was terrified of the fireworks. We couldn't find it's home and since I've been raising chickens for years I decided to keep it. I see all your lovely house but unfortunately I am neither crafty enough or physically capable of making my own house. I have been looking at those XXL resin dog houses. (easy enough to put together and light enough for me to move it if I have to. I don't plan on getting any other geese at this time. Not sure what breed (although possibly african gray or chinese brown) or sex of my little friend. Do you all think this type of house would be adequate for this goose? I already have a chainlink fenced area 10x10x6 but would like to have some type of house just incase it is so inclined to use it. Thank you!

Would anyone be willing to post pictures of their goose house? We will be building something this weekend but not totally sure what to do!!
If you go to "opensanctuary.org", they have some excellent advise on what should be used on building a goose house. You want to make sure they have lots of room and keeping rodents from getting in and other critters but them rodents will chew their way in. The information will give you the right materials and how to build one that can keep these things from happening. Personally, it's a very smart way to build a house for geese.
"The open sanctuary project" hope this helps.
