Adopt-An-Egg Hatch Along!

Here is (chick #7) Juniper! She’s been improving some, but I won’t be able to get her leg perfectly straight. I think she was weirdly malpositioned in her egg because her body is a bit twisted too.

This is long overdue, like this should have been posted a week ago, but.....

Update time!

Unfortunately, my three chicks with leg problems were culled. I tried, but I couldn’t fix it. It was something far more serious than just a slipped tendon. I only got to love my babies for a short and hard 5 weeks before I made the decision. They couldn’t even hardly walk. I wanted so badly to help them, but it wasn’t worth their suffering. Their legs were completely twisted, some worse than others, and they wouldn’t have been able to do any normal chicken things. They were slowly going downhill, and I wanted their suffering to be over.💔

Update!

Below are pictures of all the chicks that hatched, except for three. Those three that aren’t pictured are currently dealing with leg problems, and I have them all “casted” up to help, so I wasn’t able to take them outside to take pictures of them. Hopefully I can get them all fixed up! If anyone has any name suggestions, I would love to hear them! Sweet, gender-neutral names are preferred.

This chick is dealing with some leg problems, so I couldn’t take any pictures of it, but hopefully soon...

I do, however, have pictures of it’s’ big brother, Pancake, when he was a chick, and they are identical, it’s crazy. So, although this isn’t that chick, this is almost exactly what it looks like.

If you can’t find any more names here are a couple:
#5 looks like a Silver or Sil for short
#6 makes me think Magpie or Maggie/Mags
And #9 looks like a precious little Bloo(I had a Bloo, she looked a lot like that but a bit darker head, she was super super sweet and loved being held and would follow right at my heel but my neighbors cat at her at 1 1/2 months old)
