Hi guys,
I got some fertilised eggs from a nearby hobby farm, but the farm couldn't tell me what breed of chicken (I'm not sure why, I think they just didn't keep a record).

The eggs are hatched and my 5 chicks are now 3 weeks old. The farm did say the darker the chick the more likely it is to be a hen, so I think I might have isa browns or buff orpingtons, but its a total guess!

I'm also not sure yet if I have hens or roos.

Any advice or guesses would be appreciated, or if you think it might be a different breed altogether!
Thanks!

Looks like ISA's. They aren't Buff Orps.

It's easier to wait until they feather out.
None have a huge comb yet. They're adorable.
There's a lot of white on some, but they could well get more brown later.

I don't think you have ISAs. ISAs have yellow legs, and are specific cross breed or hybrid. Additionally, ISA Brown is a copyrighted name/hybrid. Not every hatchery can sell them. These are probably red sex links.

Red sex links are some type of red rooster over some type of white or silver laced hen. Depending on which birds were bred will get you gold comets, ISAs, Red Stars... whatever.

Also sex links don't breed true. Offspring from sex links will not have the same characteristics. Meaning to get more sex link chick you have to go back to the red rooster over white hen cross.
